Voters in the United States are casting ballots for all 435 House seats and 35 of the 100 Senate seats, with Republicans defending their congressional majority and Democrats aiming to seize control. The first polling stations are expected to close at 02:00 Turkish time. Control of Congress matters because it determines the legislative path for the next administration's budget, tax and spending priorities. Results will be tracked seat by seat as returns come in.
